Lamar is out. Huntley starts. The number still matters.
Baltimore’s quarterback question has an answer. Now bettors and traders need to decide whether the available price offers anything the market has not already considered.
Sunday, October 11, 2026 · 8:20 p.m. ET · Baltimore Ravens at Atlanta Falcons
Lamar Jackson has been ruled out with an ankle injury, and Tyler Huntley will start against Atlanta. Baltimore will also be without Trey Hendrickson, who is sidelined by a finger injury.
That changes the focus of this SNF preview. The Ravens need a winning plan built around Huntley, while Falcons backers must decide how much to pay for Atlanta’s advantage. Confirmed news makes the matchup clearer; it does not automatically make the favorite a bargain.

That half-point matters. A three-point Atlanta win pays Baltimore +3.5 and loses Atlanta -3.5. At three, both spread positions would push.
Use the NFL lines comparison to evaluate the number and payout together. Today’s confirmation should not become permission to accept any price with “Falcons” beside it. If considering an exchange account, the Novig promo code guide explains the offer separately from the game quote.

Friday snapshot of the public-betting feed, not the entire market. Cumulative shares can include wagers placed before Jackson was ruled out and at earlier prices.
The NFL public betting board still shows support for Baltimore with the points. That does not establish that bettors are newly buying Huntley after the announcement.
Nor does a handle gap prove professional action. It tells us about wager sizes within the sample, without identifying the bettors or the prices they received. A view that Atlanta wins can coexist with a view that Baltimore covers.
Lamar Jackson ruled out: Build the handicap around Huntley
Our starting expectation is that Baltimore would prefer to keep Huntley in manageable down-and-distance situations, using Derrick Henry and efficient completions to sustain drives. That is a game-plan inference, not a confirmed play-calling forecast.
The test comes if Atlanta builds a lead and forces Baltimore into obvious passing situations. Can Huntley keep drives alive when the defense expects a throw? Can the protection give him time without the offense relying on Jackson’s ability to create outside the original play?
Confirmed absences and remaining questions
- Lamar Jackson: Out with an ankle injury. Huntley will start.
- Trey Hendrickson: Out with a finger injury, affecting Baltimore’s pass-rush options.
- Cam Jurgens: The Ravens say the new center will not debut this week while in concussion protocol.
- Marlon Humphrey: Returned to practice Friday; that observation alone does not confirm game availability.
Hendrickson’s absence deserves attention alongside Jackson’s. It removes a pass-rush option against Michael Penix Jr. and complicates the argument that Baltimore can compensate for reduced offensive upside by controlling Atlanta’s possessions.
Follow the NFL injury report for the remaining designations. The quarterback decision is settled; the complete personnel picture still matters.
The total: A backup quarterback does not make the under automatic
A Huntley-led offense could produce fewer explosive plays, but fewer points are only one possible consequence. Short fields, turnovers or sustained Atlanta drives could offset a slower Baltimore attack.
Build the total from both sides of the ball. If your under case requires the Ravens to shorten the game, ask whether they can stay close enough to keep running. If your over case relies on Baltimore chasing points, ask whether those extra passing attempts will become productive drives.
Check the NFL odds movers before attributing a price change to today’s announcement. Jackson’s possible absence was already part of the discussion this week; we cannot assign every move to the official ruling without a matching timeline.
Player props: Huntley’s passing number deserves a comparison
Selected props · October 9, 2:30 p.m. ET
| Player / market | Platform | Line | Over / Under |
|---|---|---|---|
| Huntley passing yards | DraftKings | 174.5 | -111 / -113 |
| Huntley passing yards | FanDuel | 169.5 | -114 / -114 |
| Penix passing yards | DraftKings | 219.5 | -113 / -111 |
| Henry rushing yards | DraftKings | 79.5 | -113 / -111 |
| Bijan Robinson rushing yards | DraftKings | 87.5 | -112 / -112 |
The Huntley comparison offers a straightforward lesson: compare the threshold before the payout. A lower yardage line helps an over position, while a higher line helps an under position; the accompanying price determines the trade-off.
Henry’s workload could be central to Baltimore’s plan, but more intended carries do not guarantee more rushing yards. Blocking, defensive attention and the scoreboard all matter. The same applies to assuming Robinson automatically benefits from an Atlanta lead that has not happened yet.
Use the passing props and rushing props tools to compare offers. For Flowers and Andrews, reassess volume through Huntley’s offense on the receiving props page. Avoid stacking several wagers that all require the same optimistic passing script.

A headline can remove uncertainty without creating a new trading edge. Before buying, compare the current ask with your own estimate and check available liquidity. If you plan to exit early, the bid matters too.
For a hypothetical contract bought at 61 cents that settles at $1 on a win, the potential profit is 39 cents before fees; the purchase price is at risk on a loss. Calling Atlanta the more likely winner is not enough to establish that the contract is cheap.

The CLEATZ approach for Sunday night
Baltimore’s case now rests on Huntley sustaining enough offense, Henry helping control possessions and the defense keeping the game manageable. Atlanta’s case is clearer with Jackson out, but clearing the spread requires more than simply winning.
Start with the confirmed lineup, shop the field-goal boundary and make sure your props agree with your game script. Compare the wider slate on our NFL picks page.
Lamar’s status is settled. Whether the price is worth taking is still the bettor’s job.
