Public Money — Week 1 Share of Handle

“Share of handle” is the percentage of money on a side, not the percentage of tickets. When handle and ticket count split apart, that gap is usually sharp money on one side and public money on the other. NFL Betting — Frequently Asked Questions

What are the current NFL Week 1 odds?
Week 1 spreads and totals are posted on the board above and refresh as the market moves. Early-week lines are the softest of the season — they tighten as sharp money comes in.
What does “public betting percentage” mean?
It’s the share of bets on one side of a market. A high percentage means the public is heavily on that side — which often signals where the value sits on the other side once you account for handle vs. tickets.
How is Kalshi win probability different from sportsbook futures odds?
Kalshi prices are set by a live market in cents, with no built-in vig. Sportsbook futures bake in a margin, so a Kalshi win probability is usually a cleaner read on a team’s true title odds.
What are NFL season win totals?
A win total is the number of regular-season games the market expects a team to win. You bet whether the team finishes Over or Under that number — a season-long read on a team’s outlook.
