Dallas Has the Tickets. Philadelphia Has the Injury Questions.
Cowboys at Eagles • Monday, October 26, 2026
8:15 p.m. ET • Lincoln Financial Field • ESPN/ABC
Two 2-4 teams meet Monday night with little room to waste another divisional opportunity. Dallas is the road favorite, and bettors are backing the Cowboys to win. Covering the spread is drawing a more divided response.
Philadelphia’s situation begins at quarterback. Tanner McKee is preparing for his second consecutive start in place of Jalen Hurts, and the availability of his supporting cast remains a major part of the handicap. Saquon Barkley is working toward a return, while several receiving options have missed practice.
The NFL odds board and public betting tracker put a price on that uncertainty. Our Friday snapshot has Dallas laying 4.5, a number that requires more than simply picking the winner.

Public Betting: Dallas Leads Tickets, but Spread Money Is Close
| Tracked selection | Bets | Handle |
|---|---|---|
| Cowboys -4.5 | 65% | 49% |
| Eagles +4.5 | 35% | 51% |
| Over 44.5 | 64% | 100%* |
| Under 44.5 | 36% | 0%* |
| Cowboys moneyline | 88% | 83% |
| Eagles moneyline | 12% | 17% |
*Displayed feed values are rounded. They do not establish that literally no dollars were wagered on the under. Total market volume is unavailable.
Philadelphia’s spread handle exceeds its ticket share by 16 percentage points, implying larger average wagers within the tracked sample. But a 51–49 split in dollars is close to balanced. Describing it as overwhelming Eagles money would overstate the evidence.
The moneyline is more decisive in Dallas’ direction. That distinction matters: a Cowboys win by three or four would reward Dallas moneyline bettors and Philadelphia spread bettors. There is no requirement for the two markets to tell an identical story.
Quarterback and Injuries: McKee’s Supporting Cast Matters
NBC Sports Philadelphia reports that McKee is set for another start after throwing for 215 yards, one touchdown and no turnovers against Carolina. That offers a starting point for evaluating the offense, but one game is a thin basis for projecting its ceiling.
The official Friday practice report lists Barkley as limited with a hamstring injury. DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and Dontayvion Wicks did not participate. Jonathan Greenard and Nolan Smith also missed practice, while Jalyx Hunt was limited.
For Dallas, George Pickens, Tyler Guyton, Cobie Durant and DeMarvion Overshown practiced fully. KaVontae Turpin, Dee Winters and Drew Shelton did not participate; Broderick Jones was limited.
These are practice designations, not the final game-status report. Philadelphia’s final practice is Saturday. Barkley’s participation is encouraging, but it does not yet establish that he will play or handle a normal workload. Follow the NFL injury report through Monday’s inactive announcements.
The Matchup: Can Philadelphia Keep McKee Out of Long-Yardage Situations?
Barkley’s potential return is central because a functioning run game would give Philadelphia a way to sustain possessions without repeatedly asking McKee to convert obvious passing downs. The Eagles’ team report notes that Dallas enters Week 7 last in rushing yards allowed, at just under 150 per game.
That is the strongest argument against treating Dallas as an easy road favorite. If Philadelphia runs efficiently, it can shorten the distance on third down and keep the margin manageable. The uncertainty is whether Barkley and the available blockers can deliver that game plan immediately.
Dallas has a different opportunity. If Philadelphia’s edge rush remains depleted, Dak Prescott may have more time to work through his options. Pickens’ full participation helps the outlook, but Dallas still needs to turn possessions into touchdowns to cover more than a field goal. A late Eagles score could erase a cover even after Dallas controls much of the game.
Line Movement: A Different Game From the Opening Baseline
The provider baseline shows Philadelphia moving from -3 to +4.5, with the total falling from 49 to 44.5. Those opening-to-current comparisons may cover a longer period than this week. They do not prove when the adjustment happened or how much any single injury contributed.
The practical point is that a current Dallas backer is paying a very different price from someone who took the Cowboys as an underdog. Use the NFL odds movers to inspect recorded dates before deciding whether a price has moved too far.
At -4.5, Dallas needs a five-point win. At -3, a three-point win pushes. Buying down the number can be expensive; judge the added cost rather than assuming a familiar key number is worth any premium.
Totals and Props: Availability Comes Before a Projection
The Friday weather snapshot calls for approximately 57 degrees, clear conditions and light wind. It offers no strong weather-based case for an under. Check the NFL weather report again closer to kickoff.
I would leave the total alone until the Eagles’ receiving availability is clearer. Missing targets can reduce offensive efficiency, but defensive injuries and short fields can move scoring the other way. The heavily concentrated over handle does not settle that tradeoff.
For props, McKee’s passing threshold has already fallen from a saved 224.5 baseline to 206.5, while Barkley’s rushing threshold has risen from 59.5 to 74.5. Those changes make old recommendations especially easy to misuse. An under at the earlier passing number and an over at the earlier rushing number are different bets from what is available now.
Compare the passing props, rushing props and receiving props against the final lineup. A player being active does not, by itself, establish a full workload.
CLEATZ Pick: Cowboys -4.5, Pending the Final Injury Report
Editorial lean: Dallas -4.5 at -110 or better. The matchup case is Prescott operating against a potentially depleted pass rush while McKee works with uncertain receiving support.
Conditions: Wait for the final report. I would require Pickens and Guyton to remain available, at least two of DeVonta Smith, Goedert and Wicks to be ruled out, and at least one of Greenard or Nolan Smith to be out. If those conditions do not hold, pass on this recommendation and reassess.
Price limit: No more than -4.5 and no worse than -110. The quoted BetMGM -108 fits that limit, but the lineup conditions are not yet confirmed. This is a conditional editorial lean, not a bet to place blindly on Friday.
Main risk: Barkley returns effectively, Philadelphia attacks Dallas on the ground, and the Eagles stay within one score. No second pick is necessary while those questions remain open.
For Traders: Separate the Win Price From the Cover
The displayed prediction-market estimates put Dallas near 65% to win. That is a market price, not an independent forecast, and it says nothing directly about the chance of covering -4.5.
Before comparing a win contract with a sportsbook moneyline, check the executable offer, available size, fees and settlement terms. The lines page flags Novig’s headline quote as cached, making a live execution check particularly important.

Before Monday Night: Revisit the Lineup and the Number
The Cowboys have the stronger outright backing, but spread dollars are nearly even. The decisive update could come from Philadelphia’s final injury report rather than another change in the ticket count.
Check the available personnel, compare the current number and keep the pick attached to its stated conditions. For the rest of the slate, use the NFL picks tool and NFL hub.
