San Francisco has the crowd. Washington has the cushion.
Tonight’s angles: Take the Commanders above a touchdown and look at Brock Purdy’s rushing over. Both come with limits on the number and price.
Washington at San Francisco · Monday, October 19, 2026 · 8:15 p.m. ET
Levi’s Stadium · Monday morning update, October 19
A San Francisco win and a San Francisco cover are different assignments. With more than a touchdown separating these teams on the board, Washington can lose a competitive game and still reward bettors taking the points.
That distinction drives our side preference. The 49ers have significant absences, Washington has Jayden Daniels available, and the extra half-point above seven gives us a specific reason to consider the underdog.
Updated October 19, 2026, using Monday morning data. Game-card props were timestamped 8:40 a.m. ET; the rushing-history tool carries an older 4:40 a.m. ET snapshot. These are static snapshots; Monday’s final inactive lists remain pending. Picks are editorial judgments, not model-generated probabilities.
Our MNF picks: Two individual positions
| Pick | Reference quote | Entry limit |
|---|---|---|
| Commanders +7.5 | -104 · Novig | -110 or better at +7.5 |
| Brock Purdy over 17.5 rushing yards | -113 · FanDuel | -115 or better at 17.5 |
Separate picks, not a parlay recommendation. Confirm current availability, costs and order size. Price limits are our editorial rules, not calculated fair odds.
Pick 1: Commanders +7.5 at -104
My preference is Washington with the touchdown and the hook. The matchup case starts with San Francisco missing Nick Bosa and Deebo Samuel, plus uncertainty around Mike Evans. Those absences and questions make me less eager to demand a comfortable winning margin from the favorite.
Daniels gives Washington a way to extend possessions when the first passing option is covered. My read is that his ability to keep a drive alive makes the underdog interesting at this particular spread, even if San Francisco remains the more likely winner.
The number does real work. A hypothetical 27–20 San Francisco victory wins Washington +7.5, pushes +7 and loses +6.5. I would not carry the same pick down through seven.
The downside is substantial: Washington is missing its leading rusher and defensive contributors, while San Francisco gets Kyle Juszczyk back. If the Commanders cannot sustain drives, the cushion can disappear quickly. This is a close-game position, not a claim that Washington has solved the matchup.
At -104, the break-even cover rate is approximately 51.0% before additional costs. Play +7.5 at -110 or better; pass at +7. Use the NFL lines comparison to confirm the ticket.
Pick 2: Brock Purdy over 17.5 rushing yards at -113
Purdy’s recent rushing results support a smaller prop position. The CLEATZ rushing tool shows him above its 18.5-yard reference line in four of five and seven of ten qualifying games. His latest five-game carry average is five, up from 3.8 in the preceding five-game window.
The newer game-card comparison lists FanDuel over 17.5 at -113, below BetMGM’s 18.5 at -115 and DraftKings’ 19.5 at -111. Those seven historical games above 18.5 also cleared 17.5, but that does not establish the exact hit rate at 17.5. The older rushing-tool prices are marked as needing a refresh; we are using that page for historical context, not the current quote.
My case is modest: The recent workload gives Purdy multiple chances to collect a few yards outside the pocket. He does not need a huge designed-run package to reach this threshold.
The risks are straightforward. Efficient passing can reduce his need to scramble, a comfortable lead can encourage handoffs, and late kneel-downs can reduce the final rushing total. Receiver absences also do not automatically create rushing yards; they can produce sacks or stalled drives.
Play over 17.5 only at -115 or better. This replaces Sunday’s over 18.5 recommendation as the preferred new entry. Do not chase a higher line or add another bet simply because the threshold improved. The history is context rather than a forecast, and this is the more tentative of our two picks.
Commanders vs. 49ers odds: Shop both the line and payout
| Market | Quote | Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Washington +7.5 | -104 | Novig |
| San Francisco -7.5 | +100 | Novig |
| Washington moneyline | +355 | Novig |
| San Francisco moneyline | -376 | Novig |
| Over 51.5 | -109 | BetRivers |
| Under 52 | -110 | BetMGM / Caesars |
Selected Monday morning quotes from separate platforms. Different total thresholds are different wagers; quotes are not guaranteed fills.
Sunday’s under 52.5 is no longer in this comparison. At a final total of 52, under 52 pushes while under 51.5 loses. Over 51.5 wins. That difference is why we shop thresholds before deciding whether the payout is attractive.

Public betting: San Francisco leads, under money grows
| Tracked selection | Bets | Handle |
|---|---|---|
| 49ers -7.5 | 71% | 59% |
| Commanders +7.5 | 29% | 41% |
| 49ers moneyline | 94% | 72% |
| Commanders moneyline | 6% | 28% |
| Over 51.5 | 45% | 32% |
| Under 51.5 | 55% | 68% |
October 19 morning snapshot. Bets represent tickets and handle represents dollars within each tracked market.
Washington’s moneyline wagers are larger on average within this sample, but San Francisco still holds most of the dollars. Calling this an overall rush toward the upset would overstate the evidence.
Washington’s share of spread handle has risen from 31% in Sunday’s snapshot to 41%, while its ticket share has moved from 28% to 29%. On the total, both tickets and dollars now favor the under. Sunday’s table tracked 52.5; today’s tracks 51.5, so this is not a same-price comparison. Neither change proves professional action or explains why the line moved. Our spread pick still rests on the matchup and price.

Injuries: Important absences on both sides
San Francisco
Out: Deebo Samuel, Nick Bosa, Marques Sigle and Garret Wallow.
Questionable: Mike Evans, Christian Kirk, Gracen Halton, Siran Neal, Upton Stout and Mykel Williams.
Available: Kyle Juszczyk has no game designation. Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams returned to full participation after rest days.
Washington
Out: Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Javontae Jean-Baptiste, Charles Omenihu and Marcus Mariota.
Key decisions: Stefon Diggs, Javon Kinlaw and Jeremy McNichols are among the players listed questionable. Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler have no game designation.
Official game designations rechecked Monday morning. These are selected statuses, not tonight’s final inactive lists.
Washington’s backfield is the biggest reason to be careful with historical prop trends. White and Ekeler are alternatives with Croskey-Merritt out; their earlier workloads may not describe Monday’s responsibilities.
I would not blindly back a White rushing under because of lower-volume games in his history. Confirm the rotation and use the injury tracker before interpreting any trend as a stable role.
Prediction markets: A likely winner still needs a fair price
Novig, Kalshi and Polymarket each display approximately 78% for a San Francisco win and 22% for Washington. Those rounded market-implied probabilities are not guaranteed purchase prices.
For a hypothetical contract bought at 78 cents and settling at $1 on a win, the potential profit is 22 cents before fees. One loss costs more than three winning trades at that entry. Being right often is only useful when the payout compensates for the losing outcomes.
Check the actual ask, fees, liquidity and settlement terms. Our Kalshi promo code guide and Polymarket promo code guide explain current requirements; verify the eligible product. The prediction-market apps comparison covers broader platform differences.
The Monday plan: Keep the hook, respect the uncertainty
Washington +7.5 is my preferred side. Purdy over 17.5 rushing yards is the smaller prop lean. I am passing on the total while the remaining receiving and defensive availability decisions are unresolved.
The morning forecast shows 68°F, wind around 6 mph and gusts to 17 mph; that does not give me a strong weather-only total angle. Before kickoff, check final inactives and the weather report. Use the passing and receiving props to test the offensive assumptions, and compare the broader slate through our NFL picks tool and NFL hub.
If either price moves outside the stated limit, reassess. A different number is a different decision.
