College Football Week 7 already has some of the biggest spread movement we’ve tracked this season.
Alabama has steamed from a 1.5-point favorite to -8.5 at Tennessee. Miami has moved five points against Florida State. And Air Force-UNLV has crossed through pick’em and changed favorites.
But the biggest favorites aren’t the entire story.
Penn State +6.5 is attracting 96% of the spread handle at Michigan. Nebraska +7.5 has 95% of the money at Oregon. And several totals are showing enormous differences between the number of bets and the actual dollars being wagered.
Add a Week 7 college football weather board that includes wind concerns in West Lafayette, West Point, Harrisonburg and elsewhere, and Saturday is shaping up as another week where simply looking at the most popular team won’t tell the whole story.
Below, we’re combining the latest CFB public betting splits, college football lines, CFB Odds Movers and weather data to identify the markets worth monitoring.
Updated: Wednesday, October 14, 2026
The early-week caveat still matters: Wednesday handle percentages can move significantly as betting volume and limits increase later in the week.
Four Markets Telling the Week 7 Story
Steam favorites, big-money underdogs and totals where the dollars are telling a very different story.
Alabama at Tennessee
A seven-point move with current ticket and money concentration backing the same side.
Penn State +6.5 at Michigan
The Nittany Lions are getting points and nearly all of the tracked spread dollars.
Penn State-Michigan Under
The total has also fallen from 44.5 to 42.5, putting money and movement in alignment.
Washington at Purdue
Wind and rain are possible, while bigger total wagers are overwhelmingly on the Under.
Biggest College Football Week 7 Line Moves
The top of the Week 7 movement board is dominated by two major favorites.
| Matchup | Opening | Current | Move |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alabama @ Tennessee | Alabama -1.5 | -8.5 | 7 pts toward Alabama |
| Florida State @ Miami | Miami -16.5 | -21.5 | 5 pts toward Miami |
| Ball State @ Bowling Green | Total 44.5 | 47.5 | 3 pts Over |
| UNLV @ Air Force | Air Force -1.5 | +1.5 | 3 pts + favorite flip |
| Colorado State @ Texas State | Total 67.5 | 69.5 | 2 pts Over |
| Virginia @ SMU | SMU -7.5 | -9.5 | 2 pts toward SMU |
| Auburn @ Georgia | Georgia -18.5 | -20.5 | 2 pts toward Georgia |
| Mississippi State @ LSU | LSU -12.5 | -14 | 1.5 pts toward LSU |
| Ohio @ Sacramento State | Ohio -14 | -15.5 | 1.5 pts toward Ohio |
| Georgia State @ James Madison | JMU -11.5 | -12.5 | 1 pt toward JMU |
The Alabama move is enormous.
A number that opened Alabama -1.5 is now sitting around -8.5, a full touchdown of movement.
Current betting action is supporting the move rather than fighting it:
Alabama -8.5: 83% of tickets / 96% of handle
The outright prediction markets are also aligned, pricing Alabama at roughly a 75% chance to win.

Where the Week 7 Spread Money Is Concentrated
There are plenty of favorites near the top of the board, but two underdogs stand out immediately.
| Side | Current Spread | Handle |
|---|---|---|
| Miami | -21.5 vs. Florida State | 97% |
| Alabama | -8.5 at Tennessee | 96% |
| Penn State | +6.5 at Michigan | 96% |
| Nebraska | +7.5 at Oregon | 95% |
| Texas State | -14 vs. Colorado State | 94% |
| Oregon State | -17.5 vs. Washington State | 93% |
| Western Kentucky | -1.5 at Sam Houston | 90% |
| Coastal Carolina | +1.5 vs. Appalachian State | 89% |
| Ohio State | -3.5 at Indiana | 89% |
| Louisville | -14.5 at Syracuse | 88% |
Miami and Alabama look like classic favorite steam.
Penn State and Nebraska are very different.
Both are getting points. Both are attracting overwhelming shares of the money. And both are playing opponents that prediction markets still clearly favor to win outright.
That’s exactly where separating who wins from who covers becomes important.
Biggest Week 7 Bets vs. Money Gaps
This is where the Week 7 board really gets interesting.
| Market | Bets | Handle | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Penn State-Michigan Under 42.5 | 25% | 98% | +73 |
| Georgia Southern-Old Dominion Under 47.5 | 22% | 92% | +70 |
| Georgia State-JMU Over 58.5 | 33% | 100% | +67 |
| Washington-Purdue Under 51.5 | 33% | 97% | +64 |
| Virginia-SMU Over 51.5 | 50% | 96% | +46 |
| Purdue -3.5 | 42% | 87% | +45 |
| Miami-FSU Over 56.5 | 56% | 94% | +38 |
| Missouri-Ole Miss Over 59.5 | 44% | 82% | +38 |
| New Mexico -14.5 | 67% | 100% | +33 |
| Nebraska +7.5 | 69% | 95% | +26 |
The same pattern we’ve seen in previous weeks is showing up again:
Totals are producing some of the largest differences between ticket count and actual dollars wagered.
But Week 7 adds another wrinkle.
Several of those totals also have meaningful line movement or weather context.
Penn State-Michigan: The Money Is Hammering Penn State and the Under
This may be the strongest pure betting-splits story of Week 7.
Penn State +6.5
Michigan -6.5 has:
25% of spread tickets
4% of spread handle
Penn State +6.5 has:
75% of tickets
96% of handle
That’s already a major concentration on the underdog.
Under 42.5
Then look at the total.
Over 42.5: 75% bets / 2% handle
Under 42.5: 25% bets / 98% handle
That’s a 73-point positive gap on the Under.
And unlike some betting splits, the market has moved with the money.
The total opened around 44.5 and is now approximately 42.5.
That gives us:
Bigger money → Under
Line movement → Under
The weather currently looks calm, so this downward move doesn’t appear to have an obvious wind or rain explanation.
One thing does conflict, however.
Penn State opened around +6 and is now +6.5 despite the overwhelming current spread money on the Nittany Lions.
That’s worth watching.
Nebraska-Oregon: The Tickets, Spread Money and Outright Money Tell Different Stories
Oregon remains a sizable favorite.
Prediction markets put the Ducks around a 71%-72% chance to win.
But the sportsbook betting splits look radically different.
Spread
Oregon -7.5: 31% bets / 5% handle
Nebraska +7.5: 69% bets / 95% handle
Moneyline
The disagreement becomes even larger when bettors are asked whether Nebraska wins outright.
Oregon ML: 66% bets / 6% handle
Nebraska ML: 34% bets / 94% handle
Yet the prediction markets still price Nebraska at only around 29%.
That doesn’t mean the prediction markets or sportsbook bettors are automatically wrong.
It means we have a very unusual disagreement between market-implied probability and where sportsbook dollars are currently sitting.

Washington-Purdue: Big Purdue Money, Massive Under Money — and Wind
Friday night gives us one of the best combined betting-and-weather setups of the week.
Spread
Washington +3.5 has more tickets:
58% bets / 13% handle
Purdue -3.5 has fewer bets but substantially more money:
42% bets / 87% handle
That’s a 45-point money gap toward Purdue.
Total
The total disagreement is even larger.
Over 51.5: 67% bets / 3% handle
Under 51.5: 33% bets / 97% handle
That’s a 64-point gap toward the Under.
Now add the forecast.
West Lafayette currently has gusts approaching 29 mph, with rain chances around 47% near kickoff.
This is one of the few Week 7 games where the betting data and weather both give us a reason to keep watching the total.
Interestingly, the number is still around 51.5, roughly where it opened.
If the Under money continues arriving and the total still refuses to fall, that becomes an even more interesting market signal.
Florida State-Miami: Favorite Steam, Over Money and Longshot Moneyline Action
Miami has been one of the most aggressively repriced favorites of Week 7.
The Hurricanes opened around -16.5.
They’re now approximately -21.5.
Current spread action strongly supports that move:
Miami -21.5: 76% bets / 97% handle
The total is also drawing larger Over wagers:
Over 56.5: 56% bets / 94% handle
So spread money, total money and the five-point move toward Miami are all relatively straightforward.
Then the moneyline breaks the pattern.
Florida State +1000 has:
12% of moneyline tickets
84% of moneyline handle
Prediction markets, meanwhile, price Florida State around only 8%-9% to win outright.
That is a massive difference between sportsbook handle share and market-implied win probability.
It doesn’t establish an edge by itself.
It does make Florida State’s outright market one of the stranger Week 7 data points.
Notre Dame-BYU: Bigger Money Is Playing Two Different Outcomes
Notre Dame is roughly a 10.5-point favorite.
The spread itself is fairly balanced:
BYU +10.5: 57% bets / 51% handle
Notre Dame -10.5: 43% bets / 49% handle
Nothing remarkable there.
The other two markets are much more interesting.
Total
Over 46.5 has:
67% of tickets
93% of handle
BYU moneyline
BYU +310 has:
10% of tickets
74% of moneyline handle
Yet the prediction markets still put Notre Dame around 77%-78% to win.
So the larger sportsbook wagers appear interested in a fairly specific combination:
More scoring — and more BYU upset exposure than the ticket count suggests.
The forecast currently looks calm, so weather isn’t providing an obvious reason for the movement.

CFB Week 7 Weather Watch
The CLEATZ CFB Weather Report currently has 15 games flagged for wind or precipitation concerns.
A few stand out when we compare the forecast with the betting market.
| Game | Weather Concern | Market Angle |
|---|---|---|
| Washington @ Purdue | Gusts near 29 mph, rain possible | Under has 97% handle |
| Florida Atlantic @ Army | Gusts near 26 mph | Total 57.5 → 55.5 |
| Georgia State @ James Madison | Gusts near 25 mph | Total 54.5 → 58.5 |
| Northern Illinois @ Wyoming | Gusts near 24 mph | Total 38.5 → 40.5 |
| New Mexico @ Hawaii | Sustained wind above 20 mph | Total 48.5 → 44.5 |
| Florida State @ Miami | Winds around 17–18 mph | Total slightly higher |
Georgia State-James Madison: The Market Is Ignoring the Wind
This is one of my favorite weather-market conflicts this week.
James Madison’s forecast currently calls for winds around 16 mph near kickoff with gusts around 25 mph.
Normally, that would at least make bettors question a rising total.
Instead:
Opening total: 54.5
Current total: 58.5
And Over 58.5 has:
33% of tickets
100% of tracked handle
That’s not a subtle signal.
The weather says conditions could make the passing and kicking game more difficult.
The current betting dollars and line movement are saying more points.
Because it’s still Wednesday and an early 100% handle reading can be heavily affected by sample size, this is exactly the type of market to revisit Friday.
New Mexico-Hawaii: Wind and the Total Are Moving Together
This is the opposite setup.
The forecast in Honolulu currently includes sustained winds above 20 mph during the game.
The total has fallen approximately:
48.5 → 44.5
That is a significant move.
Unlike James Madison, the line direction here is much easier to reconcile with the forecast.
New Mexico is also getting extremely heavy spread support at -14.5.
But with early-week splits showing nearly all of the current money on one side, I’d be more interested in whether those percentages survive once more betting volume arrives than in treating the early percentages as an automatic signal.
Ohio State-Indiana: A Rare Week 7 Consensus Market
Not everything on the board is a disagreement.
Ohio State -3.5 currently has:
79% of spread tickets
89% of spread handle
The Over 51.5 has:
80% of tickets
83% of handle
Prediction markets are also tightly grouped around a 61%-62% Ohio State win probability.
No major weather issue currently appears likely.
So this is one of the cleaner Week 7 examples where tickets, dollars and outright market pricing are mostly telling the same story.
Sometimes the interesting takeaway is that there isn’t a conflict.
Five CFB Week 7 Markets We’re Watching
1. Penn State at Michigan
Penn State +6.5 has 96% of spread handle, while Under 42.5 has 98% of total handle on only 25% of tickets.
2. Alabama at Tennessee
Alabama has moved an enormous seven points from -1.5 to -8.5, with 96% of current spread money on the Crimson Tide.
3. Washington at Purdue
Purdue owns 87% of spread handle despite fewer tickets, while Under 51.5 has 97% of the total money. Gusts could approach 29 mph.
4. Nebraska at Oregon
Nebraska +7.5 has 95% of spread handle, and the Cornhuskers have 94% of moneyline handle despite prediction markets pricing them below 30% to win.
5. Florida State at Miami
Miami has moved five points and owns 97% of spread handle, while the Over has 94% of total handle. The FSU moneyline split remains a major outlier.
What to Watch as Saturday Approaches
Week 7 is giving us three very different kinds of markets.
There are steam favorites like Alabama and Miami.
There are big-money underdogs like Penn State and Nebraska.
And there are totals where the dollars and ticket counts barely resemble each other, particularly Penn State-Michigan, Washington-Purdue and Georgia Southern-Old Dominion.
That is why the useful question isn’t simply:
Who has the most money?
It’s:
Where are the tickets, where are the dollars, what has the number done — and does the market agree?
