College Football Week 2 has plenty of big games, but some of the most interesting action is happening underneath the marquee matchups.
One favorite has moved eight points from the opening number. Several games have enormous gaps between the percentage of bets and the percentage of money. The CLEATZ signal board is flashing reverse line movement in multiple spots. And wind could become a legitimate factor in a few Saturday games.
Below, we’re tracking the biggest Week 2 line moves, where bettors are piling in, where larger wagers appear to disagree with the crowd, the strongest CLEATZ signals, and the weather situations worth watching.

CFB Week 2 Market Pulse
| Week 2 Signal | Market | Current Read |
|---|---|---|
| Biggest Spread Move | Oklahoma @ Michigan | *Michigan -2.5 → +5.5 |
| Biggest Money Gap | Washington State-Kansas State Under | 12% bets · 99% money |
| Top CLEATZ Signal | Duke @ Illinois | Duke +6 |
| Weather Watch | Arizona @ BYU | 22+ mph wind · gusts near 30 |
*We began tracking the spread of the Oklahoma vs. Michigan game back in July. Hence the listing of Michigan -2.5
Those four markets tell the story of Week 2 pretty well.
Oklahoma-Michigan has undergone a complete repricing. Washington State-Kansas State has one of the largest tickets-versus-money disagreements on the board. Duke has moved against a heavily backed Illinois side. And the weather in Provo could become part of the handicap rather than background noise.
Let’s dig into each part of the board.

Biggest College Football Week 2 Line Moves
Opening lines provide context that current odds alone can’t show.
A favorite sitting at -5.5 doesn’t necessarily look unusual. But when that team was originally a 2.5-point underdog, we suddenly have a very different story.
Here are some of the biggest Week 2 moves CLEATZ is tracking:
| Matchup | Opening | Current | Move |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oklahoma @ Michigan | Michigan -2.5 | Michigan +5.5 | 8 pts toward Oklahoma |
| Oregon @ Oklahoma State | Oregon -18.5 | Oregon -23.5 | 5 pts toward Oregon |
| Southern Miss @ Auburn | Auburn -29.5 | Auburn -33.5 | 4 pts toward Auburn |
| Washington State @ Kansas State | Total 51.5 | Total 48.5 | 3 pts Under |
| UTSA @ Texas State | UTSA -1.5 | UTSA +1.5 | 3 pts + favorite flip |
| Louisiana Tech @ LSU | LSU -32.5 | LSU -35.5 | 3 pts toward LSU |
| Georgia Southern @ Clemson | Clemson -23.5 | Clemson -20.5 | 3 pts toward Georgia Southern |
| Arkansas @ Utah | Utah -10 | Utah -12.5 | 2.5 pts toward Utah |
Oklahoma-Michigan is the move of the week
This isn’t a routine adjustment.
Michigan opened around -2.5 and is now +5.5, an eight-point swing that has changed the favorite entirely.
Current betting action is overwhelmingly behind Oklahoma as well, with approximately 86% of spread tickets and 95% of tracked spread money on the Sooners at -5.5.
But another market inside the same game is arguably just as interesting.
Only 22% of the tracked total tickets are on Under 43.5, yet those wagers represent roughly 71% of the total handle.
So Oklahoma-Michigan currently has two separate stories:
The side: enormous market movement toward Oklahoma.
The total: a much smaller group of Under bettors accounting for a much larger share of the money.
Where the Week 2 Public Is Piling In
Large betting percentages don’t automatically make a side good or bad.
What they do tell us is where the crowd has reached something close to consensus.
Some of the most heavily backed Week 2 spreads currently include:
| Side | Spread Bets |
|---|---|
| Virginia -44.5 vs. Norfolk State | 97% |
| Howard +56.5 at Indiana | 97% |
| Utah -12.5 vs. Arkansas | 97% |
| Sacramento State +18.5 at Fresno State | 96% |
| Oklahoma -5.5 at Michigan | 95% |
| UCLA -12.5 vs. San Diego State | 95% |
| Oregon -23.5 at Oklahoma State | 94% |
| East Carolina -7 vs. Appalachian State | 94% |
That makes Oklahoma one of Week 2’s clearest combinations of public support and market movement.
Utah is another.
The Utes have moved from -10 to -12.5 while currently attracting 97% of the tracked spread handle.
But the most useful numbers often aren’t the highest percentages.
They’re the percentages that don’t match.

Biggest Bets vs. Money Disagreements
Ticket percentage tells us how many wagers are on a side.
Handle percentage tells us how much money is there.
Large differences between the two can indicate that the average wager on one side is significantly larger.
Week 2 has some extreme examples.
| Market | Bets | Money | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Washington St-Kansas St Under 48.5 | 12% | 99% | +87 |
| Sacramento State +18.5 at Fresno State | 20% | 96% | +76 |
| Sacramento St-Fresno St Under 45.5 | 29% | 100% | +71 |
| Villanova +36.5 at Louisville | 14% | 75% | +61 |
| Arkansas-Utah Under 54.5 | 20% | 78% | +58 |
| Kansas +5.5 vs. Missouri | 32% | 81% | +49 |
| Oklahoma-Michigan Under 43.5 | 22% | 71% | +49 |
Washington State-Kansas State is hard to ignore
The total opened at 51.5 and has fallen to 48.5.
At the current number, only about 12% of tracked total tickets are on the Under, but those wagers represent approximately 99% of the money.
That doesn’t tell us who placed those wagers.
It does tell us that the average amount wagered on the Under is dramatically larger than the average Over wager.
And unlike some tickets-versus-money discrepancies, the market has moved sharply in the same direction.
That’s why Washington State-Kansas State Under is one of the cleaner Week 2 market signals.
Kansas is attracting a very different kind of action
Missouri is drawing roughly 68% of the spread tickets at Kansas.
But Kansas +5.5 accounts for around 81% of the money despite receiving only 32% of the wagers.
The line has also moved from Kansas +6.5 to +5.5.
That gives us three pieces pointing toward Kansas:
Fewer tickets. More money. Line movement toward Kansas.
Those are the combinations worth monitoring.

Strongest CLEATZ Week 2 Signals
The CLEATZ Picks engine looks beyond simple public percentages.
The board combines sharp-money gaps, public fades, steam, reverse line movement and other market signals.
As of Thursday, 36 of 69 tracked games clear the CLEATZ lean bar.
1. Duke +6 at Illinois
Duke currently owns one of the strongest signal combinations on the board.
- CLEATZ entry: Duke +7.5
- Current line: Duke +6
- 77% of spread tickets are on Illinois
- The spread has moved approximately 1.5 points toward Duke
- Under 51.5 has roughly 94% of the money despite only 50% of tickets
This is a classic reverse-line setup.
The majority of the crowd is backing Illinois, yet the market has moved toward Duke.
The total is displaying an even larger money discrepancy.
2. UCF +7 at Pittsburgh
UCF entered the CLEATZ board at +8.5 and is now around +7.
Pittsburgh is receiving roughly 72% of the spread tickets, but the line has moved approximately 1.5 points toward UCF.
That gives the Knights a combination of:
- Public fade
- Reverse line movement
- Market movement toward the underdog
Under 56.5 also has a meaningful handle-over-tickets gap.
3. Purdue +3 vs. Wake Forest
Purdue first entered the board around +4.5 and has shortened to approximately +3.
The current CLEATZ signal includes larger-wager support and a spread that has moved toward Purdue since the initial entry.
Other Week 2 CLEATZ spots worth watching
| Game | CLEATZ Read | Main Signal |
|---|---|---|
| Missouri @ Kansas | Kansas +5.5 | Money + steam |
| Washington St @ Kansas St | Under 48.5 | Money + total move |
| South Florida @ Army | Under 46.5 | Money + total move |
| Villanova @ Louisville | Villanova +36.5 | Money + public fade |
| Sacramento St @ Fresno St | Sacramento State +18.5 | Huge money gap |
| Ohio State @ Texas | Texas -1.5 | Public fade |

Ohio State-Texas: The Marquee Market
No. 1 Ohio State visiting No. 4 Texas is the biggest national game on the Week 2 board.
The market is essentially treating it like a toss-up, with Texas currently around -1.5.
But the public betting percentages aren’t nearly as balanced.
Approximately 71% of the tracked spread tickets are currently backing Ohio State +1.5.
That makes Texas a CLEATZ public-fade position.
Prediction markets are considerably tighter, pricing Texas at roughly 53% to win and Ohio State around 47%.
This isn’t a giant line-movement story.
It’s interesting precisely because the game is close to a coin flip in the market while the betting public has developed a much stronger opinion.
That makes the spread movement approaching kickoff worth watching.
CFB Week 2 Weather Watch
Most college football weather gets talked about far more than it deserves.
Week 2 has a few games where it actually matters.
Arizona at BYU
This is currently the strongest wind concern on the CLEATZ weather board.
Forecasts around kickoff call for sustained winds around 22-24 mph with gusts approaching 30 mph.
The total has also moved from approximately 50.5 to 47.5.
Wind isn’t necessarily responsible for that movement, but passing efficiency, deep throws and kicking become more relevant to the handicap when sustained wind gets into this range.
Arkansas at Utah
Another late game has significant wind in the forecast.
Sustained winds around kickoff are projected near 22 mph, with gusts potentially reaching approximately 35 mph.
The total has already moved from roughly 56.5 to 54.5.
Again, correlation isn’t causation. But the combination is worth monitoring.
Georgia Southern at Clemson
Wind isn’t the issue here.
Rain is.
The current CLEATZ forecast shows an approximately 88% rain chance around kickoff, with elevated rain probabilities continuing through much of the game.
Interestingly, Clemson has also moved from approximately -23.5 to -20.5.
Weather isn’t automatically the reason, but it adds another variable to one of Week 2’s larger spread moves.

Five Week 2 Markets We’re Watching Through Kickoff
Oklahoma at Michigan
The week’s largest move by a mile.
Michigan went from favorite to sizable underdog, while Oklahoma now owns overwhelming ticket and money support.
The question isn’t whether the market moved.
It’s whether -5.5 is finally where resistance begins.
Duke at Illinois
This may be the most interesting pure signal game on the CLEATZ board.
The crowd likes Illinois.
The market has moved toward Duke.
And Under money is dramatically larger than its ticket count.
Washington State at Kansas State
The side isn’t what makes this interesting.
The total is.
A three-point downward move combined with one of the largest handle-versus-ticket gaps anywhere on the board puts Under 48.5 squarely on the Week 2 watchlist.
Missouri at Kansas
Missouri owns most of the tickets.
Kansas owns most of the money.
And the line has shortened toward Kansas.
That’s exactly the sort of disagreement the weekly report should surface.
Ohio State at Texas
The game of the week also gives us a fascinating market split.
Prediction markets see something close to 53-47.
Spread bettors look much more confident in Ohio State.
We’ll see whether the market eventually agrees.
