Seattle gets the bets. Denver deserves a closer look.
The favorite has the crowd. The underdog has a larger share of dollars than tickets. And the total is moving in a different direction from the popular wager.
Seattle at Denver · Thursday, October 15, 2026 · 8:15 p.m. ET
Wednesday morning preview · October 14
A short spread makes this Thursday night matchup especially sensitive to price. Before choosing a side, decide whether you are betting on the winner or the winning margin. A field-goal finish can make that distinction expensive.
Our strongest early prop preference is Bo Nix under 15.5 rushing yards. Seattle is a conditional spread lean, with the final injury report still capable of changing the case.

Seattle winning by three covers -2.5. It pushes -3 and loses -3.5. Denver backers face the reverse problem: +2.5 offers no protection against that exact losing margin.
That makes the half-point worth checking before accepting an attractive payout. Use our NFL lines comparison to shop the full ticket. If you are considering an exchange, the Novig promo code guide explains current offer terms and eligibility.
Public betting: Denver has the larger average wagers

| Denver +2.5 | 30% | 39% |
| Seattle moneyline | 71% | 58% |

| Under 40.5 | 18% | 16% |
October 14 morning snapshot. Percentages describe each tracked market separately.
Denver’s handle exceeds its ticket share by nine percentage points on the spread and 13 on the moneyline. That indicates larger average Denver wagers in this sample. Seattle still has the majority of dollars in both pools.
Calling that “sharp money on Denver” goes beyond the evidence. The splits do not identify bettors or establish which side has an edge. Follow the NFL public betting board alongside the available price.
The total: Heavy over action meets a lower number
The movement tracker shows a total declining from a provider opening baseline of 43.5 to 40.5. That sits alongside the strong over percentages above.
It is an interesting disagreement, but the movement feed and betting sample do not represent identical markets or synchronized wagers. We cannot establish who caused the move.
Nor should an under bettor treat 40.5 as the same opportunity as 43.5. A hypothetical 24–17 game goes under the opening threshold and over the current one. My approach is to pass on the total for now: I want more than a popular-over narrative to justify chasing the lower number. Track changes through our NFL odds movers.
Injuries: The secondary and Seattle’s top target
Tuesday’s estimated participation
Denver: Patrick Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga were non-participants with ankle injuries. Riley Moss was limited with a rib injury.
Seattle: Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Leonard Williams were limited with ankle injuries. Drake Thomas (ankle) and Chazz Surratt (calf) were non-participants.
Seattle did not practice Tuesday; Denver held a walkthrough. These are estimated participation levels, not final game designations.
My matchup read: Denver’s coverage depth becomes a more attractive target if multiple defensive backs cannot play. But Seattle needs Smith-Njigba available to fully support that argument. An injury on one side does not erase uncertainty on the other.
Check the NFL injury report and official game statuses before committing to Seattle or its receiving props.
Our prop pick: Bo Nix under 15.5 rushing yards
Selection: Under 15.5 rushing yards
Reference price: -108 at DraftKings
My limit: -110 or better at 15.5; pass if only 13.5 is available.
October 14, 10:00 a.m. ET snapshot. The rushing tool flags cached quotes for refresh; confirm this price directly.
The CLEATZ rushing props tool shows Nix below this threshold in five of his last five qualifying games and eight of ten. His carries declined from 6.2 per game in the previous five to 3.6 in the latest five.
My preference rests on the reduced rushing volume as well as the results. Fewer attempts leave fewer opportunities to build a meaningful rushing total. Still, one scramble can beat this line, and an increase in designed runs would weaken the case quickly.
Those historical records are measured against today’s threshold, not the closing line in each game. They are not an 80% forecast. At -108, the break-even rate is approximately 51.9% before any additional costs; this is an editorial pick, not a calibrated probability model.
Side lean: Seattle -2.5, subject to availability
I lean Seattle at -2.5, with -110 as my maximum price, provided Smith-Njigba is cleared and Denver remains short-handed in coverage. That is a conditional position, not an instruction to bet before the final report.
The football argument is the potential passing-game matchup. The ticket argument is keeping a three-point Seattle win on our side. If Seattle loses its primary receiving threat, Denver’s secondary recovers, or the spread reaches -3.5, I would reassess rather than carry the same recommendation forward.
Prediction markets: Compare the cost of the same outcome
The displayed win probabilities are Seattle 57% and Denver 43% at Novig, versus 56% and 44% at Kalshi. These rounded figures are reference points, not guaranteed purchase prices.
A hypothetical Seattle contract bought for 56 cents risks 56 cents to earn 44 cents if it settles at $1. That is approximately -127 in American-odds terms before fees. Check the actual ask and available size before comparing it with a moneyline.
If you intend to sell before settlement, also check the bid: a favorable display does not guarantee a favorable exit. Our Kalshi promo code guide covers current offer requirements, while the prediction-market apps comparison explains platform differences.
The Thursday plan: One prop, one conditional side
Nix under 15.5 is my preferred early angle if the quoted price remains available. Seattle -2.5 stays on the watchlist until injuries clarify. The total is a pass.
Recheck those thresholds before kickoff. If they disappear, the right response is a fresh evaluation—not treating a worse ticket as the same pick.
