College Football Week 6 already has something we haven’t seen much this season: multiple marquee games changing favorites before kickoff.
Georgia opened as the favorite against Alabama. Alabama is now favored. USC opened as the favorite against Penn State. Penn State is now laying points.
Meanwhile, several underdogs are attracting a surprisingly large share of the actual money. Iowa State +10.5, UCLA +11.5, Vanderbilt +10 and Florida State +3.5 all rank among the biggest underdog handle positions on the board.
And then there’s the weather. Indiana-Nebraska could see gusts approaching 40 mph, Georgia-Alabama has rain and wind concerns, and James Madison-Georgia Southern is showing a potentially nasty combination of rain and wind, even while the Over attracts most of the money.
Below, we’re combining the live CFB public betting splits, college football lines, CFB Odds Movers and college football weather to identify the Week 6 markets worth monitoring.
This is still an early-week snapshot. Handle percentages can move dramatically as limits rise later Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Four Markets Telling the Week 6 Story
Favorite flips, major money gaps and weather concerns already shaping the board.
Georgia at Alabama
Alabama became the favorite even though current spread action still leans heavily Georgia.
Indiana-Nebraska Under
An 82-point money gap meets a forecast with wind gusts approaching 39 mph.
USC at Penn State
Penn State changed from underdog to favorite while attracting the bigger spread dollars.
James Madison at Georgia Southern
Heavy rain and wind are possible, yet the larger total money is overwhelmingly on the Over.
Biggest College Football Week 6 Line Moves
The main CLEATZ lines board already has two games that have crossed through zero and changed favorites.
| Matchup | Opening | Current | Move |
|---|---|---|---|
| Georgia @ Alabama | Georgia -2.5 | Georgia +1.5 | 4 pts + favorite flip |
| South Florida @ UTSA | Total 52.5 | 49.5 | 3 pts Under |
| Florida State @ Louisville | Louisville -6.5 | -3.5 | 3 pts toward FSU |
| USC @ Penn State | USC -1.5 | USC +1.5 | 3 pts + favorite flip |
| New Mexico State @ FIU | FIU -3.5 | -6 | 2.5 pts toward FIU |
| Oklahoma @ Texas | Texas -6 | -8.5 | 2.5 pts toward Texas |
| Air Force @ Northern Illinois | Air Force -10 | -7.5 | 2.5 pts toward NIU |
There is an important distinction between the main Lines board and the more granular CFB Odds Movers tool.
Odds Movers tracks provider-specific opening snapshots, so some movements are considerably larger. For example, that tracker has Utah State moving from +1.5 to -5.5 against Washington State, a seven-point favorite flip. It also shows major provider-level total adjustments such as Texas-Oklahoma moving sharply downward.
Those provider snapshots won’t always match the consensus opener displayed on the primary Lines board, which is why both tools are useful.
Where the Week 6 Spread Money Is Concentrated
The current handle leaderboard includes a surprisingly healthy mix of favorites and underdogs.
| Side | Current Spread | Handle |
|---|---|---|
| Air Force | -7.5 at Northern Illinois | 96% |
| Florida State | +3.5 at Louisville | 95% |
| Navy | -2.5 vs. Tulsa | 95% |
| Ohio State | -34.5 vs. Maryland | 93% |
| Oregon State | -14.5 vs. San Diego State | 93% |
| Virginia | -9.5 vs. Syracuse | 91% |
| Arizona State | -20.5 vs. Hawaii | 89% |
| UCLA | +11.5 at Oregon | 88% |
| Florida | -12.5 vs. South Carolina | 87% |
| Virginia Tech | -10 at California | 87% |
Florida State and UCLA are particularly interesting because they’re taking points rather than laying them.
But raw handle share only tells us where the dollars are.
The better information comes from comparing those dollars with the number of actual bets.
Biggest Week 6 Bets vs. Money Gaps
This is where Week 6 gets much more interesting.
| Market | Bets | Handle | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indiana-Nebraska Under 49.5 | 6% | 88% | +82 |
| Ole Miss-Vanderbilt Under 58.5 | 20% | 92% | +72 |
| Iowa State-BYU Under 46.5 | 17% | 85% | +68 |
| Georgia Southern +7.5 | 2% | 63% | +61 |
| UCLA +11.5 | 30% | 88% | +58 |
| Vanderbilt +10 | 23% | 80% | +57 |
| Iowa-Washington Under 41.5 | 44% | 99% | +55 |
| Washington -3.5 | 25% | 75% | +50 |
| Pittsburgh -3.5 | 39% | 86% | +47 |
| Iowa State +10.5 | 45% | 84% | +39 |
Once again, several of the biggest gaps are appearing on totals.
But Week 6 has something Week 5 didn’t have as prominently: big underdog spread money at the same time.
Iowa State, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Georgia Southern are all taking a minority of the bets but a majority — sometimes an overwhelming majority — of the dollars.
Georgia-Alabama: The Week 6 Market Is Telling 3 Stories
This is easily the most interesting game on the board.
Georgia opened approximately -2.5.
The Bulldogs are now +1.5.
That’s a four-point move through pick’em and a complete change of favorite.
Yet the current spread splits aren’t backing Alabama.
Spread
Georgia +1.5: 77% bets / 71% handle
Alabama -1.5: 23% bets / 29% handle
So most of the current tickets and spread dollars are on Georgia.
Moneyline
Now flip to the outright market.
Alabama ML: 37% bets / 91% handle
Georgia ML: 63% bets / 9% handle
That’s a 54-point money gap on Alabama.
And prediction markets are essentially calling the game a coin flip, with Alabama around 51%-52% across the major exchanges.
That makes this an ideal game to compare sportsbook prices with prediction markets. The CLEATZ guides for Novig, Kalshi and Polymarket include the current welcome offers and signup details for each platform.
Total
The public-betting board also has 70% of total handle on the Under despite only 41% of tickets.
And weather adds another layer.
The Saturday forecast currently calls for rain probabilities above 70% around kickoff, with gusts potentially reaching 32 mph.
So we have:
Favorite flip + Georgia spread money + Alabama moneyline money + Under money + weather concerns.
There’s a lot happening here.
Indiana-Nebraska: The Biggest Total Money Gap Meets the Biggest Wind Concern
If you’re looking for one Week 6 matchup where betting data and weather immediately intersect, this is it.
Indiana-Nebraska Under 49.5 currently has:
6% of total tickets
88% of total handle
That’s an 82-percentage-point gap, the largest clean total discrepancy on the board.
Now add the forecast.
Lincoln could see sustained winds in the low-to-mid 20s with gusts reaching approximately 39 mph.
That’s enough wind to potentially affect the deep passing game, punts and field goals.
There’s another strange number hiding in this game, too.
Nebraska has only 9% of moneyline tickets but 76% of the moneyline handle at roughly +245.
Prediction markets still put Indiana around 72%-74% to win, so this isn’t an outright consensus call on Nebraska.
But the larger wagers are clearly showing more interest in the Cornhuskers than the ticket count suggests.
Iowa State-BYU: Dog Money and Under Money
BYU is a double-digit favorite.
The actual spread money tells a different story.
Spread
BYU -10.5: 55% bets / 16% handle
Iowa State +10.5: 45% bets / 84% handle
That’s a 39-point positive handle gap on Iowa State.
Total
The disagreement gets even larger here:
Over 46.5: 83% bets / 15% handle
Under 46.5: 17% bets / 85% handle
That’s a 68-point gap on the Under.
Prediction markets still price BYU around 77%-78% to win outright.
Again, that’s an important distinction.
The market isn’t necessarily saying Iowa State should win.
The larger wagers are saying +10.5 may be more attractive than the public ticket count suggests.
USC-Penn State: Another Favorite Flip But This Time the Money Agrees
Georgia-Alabama is messy.
USC-Penn State is cleaner.
USC opened around -1.5.
Penn State is now approximately -1.5.
And the current spread split is:
Penn State -1.5: 41% bets / 81% handle
USC +1.5: 59% bets / 19% handle
So USC is getting more tickets, but Penn State is getting dramatically more money.
And the line has crossed through zero toward Penn State.
That gives us:
Tickets → USC
Money → Penn State
Line movement → Penn State
Prediction markets are basically in agreement, with Penn State around 52%-53% to win.
That’s one of the cleaner Week 6 money-plus-movement setups.

Iowa-Washington: The Public Likes Iowa, the Dollars Like Washington
Friday night’s Iowa-Washington game gives us two very different stories.
Spread
Iowa +3.5: 75% bets / 25% handle
Washington -3.5: 25% bets / 75% handle
The public clearly prefers taking the points with Iowa.
The larger average wagers are landing on Washington.
Total
Then there’s the Under.
Over 41.5: 56% bets / 1% handle
Under 41.5: 44% bets / 99% handle
That’s one of the most extreme handle distributions anywhere on the board.
Prediction markets have Washington around 60%-61% to win outright, broadly consistent with the sportsbook favorite.
The bigger question is whether the total continues sitting around the low 40s as more Friday money arrives.
UCLA-Oregon: Bettors Love Oregon, Bigger Wagers Like UCLA
Oregon -11.5 has:
70% of spread tickets
12% of spread handle
UCLA +11.5 has:
30% of tickets
88% of handle
That’s a 58-point gap on UCLA.
The moneyline has a similar pattern.
Only 12% of outright tickets are on UCLA, but the Bruins currently account for 72% of moneyline handle around +350.
Prediction markets still make Oregon roughly a 78% favorite to win.
Meanwhile, the total is basically consensus in the other direction: Over 58.5 currently has 97% of tickets and 94% of handle.
So bettors appear much more divided over the margin than whether the game produces points.
CFB Week 6 Weather Watch
The live College Football Weather Report currently has 21 games on its Week 6 weather watch.
| Game | Weather Concern | Market Angle |
|---|---|---|
| Indiana @ Nebraska | Sustained 22–24 mph, gusts ~39 | Under has 88% handle |
| James Madison @ Georgia Southern | Gusts ~36, 83% rain near kickoff | Over has 95% handle |
| Georgia @ Alabama | Gusts ~32, 70%+ early rain chance | Favorite flip + Under money |
| Houston @ Kansas State | ~24 mph wind, gusts ~31 | Total has moved higher |
The weather itself isn’t the bet.
What’s useful is seeing whether the market reacts to it.
James Madison-GA Southern: Bad Weather, Big Over Money
This is one of the stranger combinations on the board.
The current forecast in Statesboro calls for approximately:
20 mph sustained wind around kickoff
Gusts around 36 mph
83% rain probability near kickoff
That would normally make a total worth watching closely.
Instead, Over in the mid-50s currently has:
75% of tickets
95% of handle
The spread is even more unusual.
Georgia Southern +7.5 has only 2% of spread tickets but 63% of the money.
James Madison has 98% of the tickets — but only 37% of the spread handle.
So this game gives us two competing angles:
Bad weather but heavy Over money.
Massive ticket count on JMU but larger average spread wagers on Georgia Southern.
Definitely one to revisit Saturday afternoon.
Houston-Kansas State: Wind Isn’t Pushing the Total Down
The biggest sustained wind forecast on the current Week 6 board belongs to Houston-Kansas State.
Winds around kickoff could reach approximately 24 mph, with gusts around 31 mph.
Yet the weather board currently has the total higher than its opening level, moving from roughly 53.5 into the mid-50s.
The early betting feed is also overwhelmingly tilted toward the Over.
Because it’s only Wednesday and that total sample appears extremely one-sided, I would be careful treating the current percentage as meaningful by itself.
The more useful signal is the conflict:
High wind forecast + total moving higher.
If that relationship survives into Friday and Saturday as volume increases, it becomes much more interesting.
Five CFB Week 6 Markets to Watch
| Game | What We’re Watching |
|---|---|
| Georgia @ Alabama | Four-point favorite flip, Georgia spread money, Alabama ML money, rain/wind |
| Indiana @ Nebraska | 88% Under handle on 6% of tickets + gusts near 39 mph |
| USC @ Penn State | Favorite flip with 81% of spread money now on Penn State |
| Iowa State @ BYU | 84% handle on ISU +10.5 and 85% handle on the Under |
| Iowa @ Washington | Iowa owns the tickets; Washington owns the spread dollars; Under has 99% handle |
What to Watch as Week 6 Gets Closer
Wednesday’s board already has major disagreements, but this is exactly the point in the week when sample size matters.
A 90% handle share on Wednesday isn’t the same thing as a 90% handle share Saturday morning.
The useful question isn’t simply:
Where is the money?
It’s:
Does the line react after that money arrives?
Georgia-Alabama and USC-Penn State have already changed favorites.
Indiana-Nebraska has an enormous Under money gap and an extreme wind forecast.
Iowa State and UCLA are attracting much bigger spread wagers than their ticket counts imply.
And James Madison-Georgia Southern is giving us a weather forecast that appears to conflict with the current Over action.
